On the weekend I really like to experiment with new smoothie recipes. Here is my latest creation. It’s simple to make, healthy and delicious. I’ve called it the Yum Yum Smoothie.
200ml of Coconut Water (If you do not like coconut then you can use something like apple juice but believe me you cannot taste the coconut. Don’t be shy and give it a try!)
Handful of Raspberries, Strawberries and Blueberries
Two Teaspoons of Chia Seeds
One Ripe Banana
- Add 200ml of Coconut Water to the smoothie bottle
- Add Banana and other fruit
- Add Chia Seeds.
- Shake to ensure Banana is not stuck to the sides
- Mix using smoothie Maker for between 30 and 60 seconds. It depends on the type of smoothie maker and how smooth you want the smoothie)
The Benefits of CHIA Seeds:
Eating Chia Seeds can provide important health benefits. They are high in protein, packed with Omega Three Fatty Acids and are high in fibre. If you put them in a smoothie you will not even realise you are eating them.
