The Solent Sky Museum details the history of aviation in the city and the wider Solent area where between 1908 and the late 1960s, some of the most important planes were created. Chief among them was the Spitfire and there is an example of the plane inside the museum. Other important exhibits include the S6b and around sixteen other planes as well as the Engine Bay that has a selection of engines to see. Visitors can climb into the Sandringham Flying Boat as well as sit in the cockpit of a Harrier Jump Jet or a Swift to see what flying was really like.
