Grandparents often tell their grandkids what life was like when they were younger but 1940s Swansea Bay gives kids the chance to glimpse it first hand. The centre is based around the city during World War II when the area was a target for German bombers in a similar way to London was. It offers the chance to see what it was like to live on rations, to hide in an air raid shelter while planes flew overhead as well as see real shops, houses and even a pub reconstructed from the period. There are also short films to help put everything together for visitors and bring the period to life.
